Service Update

cPanel License Price Update for 2027: What Changes for UnderHost Customers

cPanel adjusts its licensing prices every year. Here is what our cPanel license prices will be from January 1, 2027, what is not changing, and your options.

Main takeaway: From January 1, 2027, UnderHost’s monthly cPanel license prices will increase by between $1.00 and $11.00 per month depending on tier, and they remain lower than buying cPanel direct on every tier cPanel prices publicly. The changes follow the annual rise in cPanel license costs. Your server, your accounts, and your support are not affected, and no action is required.

We know price changes are never welcome, so we want to be direct about what is changing, why, and what you can do about it.

Updated cPanel License Prices

The new monthly prices apply to invoices generated on or after January 1, 2027. Billing before that date is unchanged.

UnderHost cPanel Cloud/VPS license prices per month, before and after the update
License Accounts Current price New price Change
cPanel Admin Up to 5 $28.95 $29.95 +$1.00 (3.5%)
cPanel Pro Up to 30 $39.95 $42.95 +$3.00 (7.5%)
cPanel Plus Up to 50 $49.50 $55.95 +$6.45 (13.0%)
cPanel Premier Up to 100 $54.95 $65.95 +$11.00 (20.0%)

UnderHost vs Buying cPanel Direct

You can buy a cPanel license directly from cPanel, so here is how our updated prices compare with the retail prices on cPanel’s public pricing page at time of writing. cPanel bills Admin and Pro either monthly or annually (with a discount), and Premier monthly.

UnderHost updated prices vs cPanel’s public retail prices, per month, excluding taxes
License Accounts cPanel direct (monthly billing) cPanel direct (annual billing, per month) UnderHost (new price) You save per month
cPanel Admin Up to 5 $35.99 $32.96 $29.95 $6.04 vs monthly; $3.01 vs annual
cPanel Pro Up to 30 $53.99 $49.46 $42.95 $11.04 vs monthly; $6.51 vs annual
cPanel Plus Up to 50 Not listed Not listed $55.95 No public price to compare
cPanel Premier Up to 100 $69.99 Not offered $65.95 $4.04

Over a year, that works out to about $72 less than cPanel’s monthly price on Admin, about $132 less on Pro, and about $48 less on Premier, on a single server. Your savings multiply across every server you run.

A fair comparison: cPanel direct prices are public list prices excluding taxes, and cPanel can change them at any time, so check cPanel’s site for the latest figures. cPanel does not publicly list a Plus tier. Beyond 100 accounts, cPanel lists $0.49 per extra account on Premier, and UnderHost’s price is $0.50, so that one line is not cheaper.

For servers with more than 100 accounts on Premier, the price per additional account will change from $0.35 to $0.50 per month.

Why Are Prices Changing?

cPanel updates its license pricing every year, and this year’s changes raise the cost of the license to hosting providers across tiers. You may recall the same pattern in our 2026 cPanel pricing update.

UnderHost keeps its margin on cPanel licenses deliberately low. Our prices need to cover the license cost and the payment processing fees on each invoice, and at the old prices the larger tiers would no longer do either. We have set the new prices to cover those costs with only a modest margin, and we have kept the increase on the smallest tier to $1.00.

What Is Not Changing

  • Your server and data. Nothing needs to be reinstalled, migrated, or reconfigured.
  • Your account limits. Each tier keeps the same account count as today.
  • Support. You still have access to our team through @CustomerPanel.
  • Billing until the effective date. Invoices generated before January 1, 2027 stay at today’s price.

Your Options

Stay on cPanel

Do nothing. Your license continues, and the new price appears on invoices from January 1, 2027. See cPanel hosting.

Right-size your tier

If your server is close to a tier limit, check your account count. Removing unused accounts can move you to a lower tier.

Switch panels

Free options include aaPanel and CloudPanel, and DirectAdmin is a lower-cost paid option. See all control panels.

Get migration help

Moving panels needs planning. Our server management team can help you migrate with minimal downtime.

Before changing panels

Moving away from cPanel means moving accounts, email, DNS, and databases, and some features differ between panels. Contact us before the effective date so we can review your setup and recommend the safest path.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do the new cPanel prices start?

The new prices apply to invoices generated on or after January 1, 2027. Anything billed before that date stays at your current price. We are giving advance notice so you can plan or change panels if you wish.

Why is the price of my cPanel license going up?

cPanel adjusts its license pricing every year, and the cost of the license to hosting providers is rising again. We keep our margin on cPanel licenses low, so we cannot absorb the full increase without selling the license below cost.

Do I need to do anything?

No. Your license, your accounts, and your server continue to work as normal, and your invoice will simply reflect the new price. If you would like to review other panels, contact us before the effective date.

Is UnderHost still cheaper than buying cPanel directly?

On Admin, Pro, and Premier, yes. At time of writing cPanel lists Admin at $35.99, Pro at $53.99, and Premier at $69.99 per month, against UnderHost’s $29.95, $42.95, and $65.95. cPanel does not publicly list a Plus tier, and its $0.49 extra-account price is $0.01 lower than ours.

What if I exceed the account limit for my tier?

Licenses are tiered by the number of accounts on the server. If your server grows past a tier limit, your license moves to the next tier and your invoice changes with it. Accounts above 100 on Premier are charged per account.

Can I switch to a cheaper control panel?

Yes. UnderHost supports free panels such as aaPanel and CloudPanel, and DirectAdmin at a lower license cost. Migrating takes planning, so our server management team can help you move accounts with minimal downtime.
