WHM’s Email Deliverability tool helps identify and resolve mail-related DNS problems. This ensures your emails reach recipients without being flagged as spam.
Why Email Deliverability Matters
Email deliverability issues arise when incorrect DNS records cause emails to land in spam folders or be rejected. The three most critical records for proper email authentication are:
- SPF (Sender Policy Framework): Defines which mail servers are allowed to send emails for your domain.
- DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail): Verifies email integrity and prevents spoofing.
- PTR (Reverse DNS): Matches your IP address with your domain name.
How to Use WHM’s Email Deliverability Interface
1. Access the Email Deliverability Tool
- Log into WHM.
- Navigate to Home > Email > Email Deliverability.
- Find the domain you want to analyze.
2. Identify Issues
- WHM will check SPF, DKIM, and PTR records.
- If any records are misconfigured, you’ll see a warning.
- Click Repair next to any failing records.
3. Manually Configure DNS Records (If Needed)
If the automatic repair doesn’t work, update your DNS records manually:
- For SPF: Add this TXT record in your DNS zone:
v=spf1 +a +mx +ip4:YOUR_SERVER_IP ~all
- For DKIM: Generate a DKIM key in WHM and add it as a TXT record.
- For PTR: Set up reverse DNS (PTR) through your hosting provider.
