Google Helps Auto-Tune Your Web Server

Google has announced that it is launching a new module for the Apache HTTP server called mod_pagespeed that will perform many speed optimizations automatically. This means that rather than having to fine tune your server configuration for every site you setup, you can instead install the Apache module to optimize automagically.

Thank you to point it out, we aware of it but the main problem is the performance, other users reported that this mod spikes a lot which I can confirm. It certainly doesn't work very well on an VPS, so I wouldn't recommend to install it there but this really depends on the environment I guess. In our test environment it spiked the load and used up all memory. On an dedicated server it runs great but causing slowness issue on site based on CSS.

This mod won't be added to our shared server in near future, but if the release come more stable since it open source we will definitely take it in consideration for shared hosting. We have on some server in USA litespeed which is clearly better than this new mod, we will probably just go in that way on every server in future.
